A Florida Educator Stands Up for Free Expression
When Horizon High School law and economics teacher William Loggans was told to remove a classroom poster featuring Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, he felt unfairly targeted.
The poster contained a simple motivational message:
“Never underestimate the power of your voice and the impact you can have on the world when you speak up for what you believe in.”
Despite its positive message, the Orange County School District ordered Loggans to take it down after a student complained that Kirk was a “controversial political figure.”
The teacher said the intent was not political at all. It was meant to encourage his students to find their voice.

Sabatini Law, P.A. Steps In
Feeling that his free-speech rights were being violated, Loggans turned to Attorney Anthony Sabatini of Sabatini Law, P.A..
Sabatini, a respected Florida attorney and advocate for constitutional rights, took up the case and filed a formal grievance on the teacher’s behalf.
Sabatini argued that the district’s action applied policy inconsistently and unfairly discriminated based on viewpoint. If the rule against “political figures” were applied evenly, many other classroom images such as historical leaders and cultural icons would also be banned.

A Victory for Teachers’ Rights and Viewpoint Diversity
After the grievance process, the school district reversed its decision and allowed Loggans to restore the poster.
This was not just a win for one teacher. It was a victory for educators across Florida who value fairness, open discussion, and intellectual diversity in the classroom.
As reported by Fox News, Loggans called the outcome “a win for every teacher who wants to encourage students to think for themselves.”
